Week 12

Baby H is the size of a plum.

12 weeks, 4 days. Little baby H was a flurry of motion during this sonogram. Can you spot his/her little hands and feet?!

The belly bump days begin!

Baby H is the size of a plum, and I am so in love with our little one!

This bacon, egg and cheese jalapeno bagel was so good I wanted a 2nd one...which I resisted of course ;-)  I'm so hungry these days I feel like I could eat all day long.

And speaking of eating all day long... this late night Sonic Blast was delicious! All the same, I'm pretty sure any size larger than a small should be illegal for the safety of  American consumers.

How far along? 12 Weeks
Maternity clothes: I bought my first nursing bras this week because my others don't fit anymore... Considering I'm only three months along, I'm wondering just how big my boobs are going to get!
Stretch marks? None...fingers crossed. I'm using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Massage Cream every day now.
Sleep: Is still an issue. I broke down and bought a Snoogle, and so far it seems pretty cozy, but I still wake up on my back every once in a while. My dreams are getting weirder and I am waking up more often. I've heard that sleep gets easier in the second trimester, so I'm hoping that I'll be getting more shut eye soon.
Best moment this week: Getting to see little Baby H during my first trimester screening. Our little one is so active! She/he was sleeping soundly when the ultrasound tech started the sonogram, but after a few prods the baby started moving around like crazy. It was amazing to see our baby's little hands and feet moving all around. At one point it stuck one of its little feet up and I could count his/her little toes! I feel so blessed knowing our baby is healthy and strong.  Her? heartbeat was 150 on Tuesday, still above 140, so if I go by the heart rate gender prediction we may have a little Lorelai! Of course, if the baby is a boy we will be equally thrilled. We just want a healthy little bebe <3
Miss Anything? I miss good turkey sandwiches.
Movement: My doctor said I should start feeling the baby move at around 18 weeks, so I have a little while to wait before I can feel Lorelai or Max's little kicks.
Food cravings: Bagels and, bizarrely, M&M Blasts from Sonic. Gabe is amazing and ran out for late night Blast treats the other night. Note to all- do not read the nutrition information before you indulge! I'm glad I got a small, and it still took me two days to finish it. How does this seriously come in a larger size?
Anything making you queasy or sick: Milk and anything with tomato based sauces. Morning Sickness can't start in the second trimester, can it? I've felt nauseated all week :-(
Gender: It's something like 48% vs 52%, so I can safely say we're having a boy or a girl lol. We have our anatomy ultrasound and gender scan on June 11th!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue, enlarged breasts- according to H&M, I'm now a 36E! I didn't even know that exists as a cup size!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On and still loose. Hopefully I'll be able to wear them the whole time!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Our life together is marvelous and I am married to the most amazing man in the world. God is very good to us!
Looking forward to: Finishing up my spring classes. Only one exam left to go! Fortunately, I will actually get about a month off of school before summer semester begins. Gabe and I are planning a romantic weekend getaway too, so I have plenty to look forward to this summer. As of right now, my only plan is to spend the whole summer with smoothies by the pool. Little Baby H and I are going to relax, read, and relax some more!

Week 11

Baby H is the size of a lime.

My baby bump is already showing! A few of my coworkers have suggested that little Baby H may not be so little lol.
Max or Lorelai has doubled in size over the past couple of weeks. I'm in awe :-)

How far along? 11 Weeks
Maternity clothes: are amazing. Who knew these elastic waistbands are so comfortable?
Stretch marks? None so far!
Sleep: Thanks to crazy dreams, getting overheated, or having to pee, I wake up in the middle of the night pretty much daily now. Since I don't usually have trouble falling back asleep, it isn't really a big deal.
Best moment this week: Purchasing furniture for Little baby H's nursery! My parents are amazing and got us both the crib and changing table from our registry. Gabe and I also snagged an outstanding deal on a rocker while we were in Jax on Friday. The glider we found is in pristine condition and matches the color scheme we're going for, and it saved us about $500 compared to the fancy glider we picked at Babies r Us. We're all about saving money these days so it was excited to find such a perfect fit for the nursery. Hopefully we will get the furniture set up soon because I'm ready to start nesting! Little Baby H will be here before we know it and I want his/her room to be perfect <3
Miss Anything? Real cheese, not worrying about listeria
Movement: Hopefully I'll be able to feel the baby move in just a few more weeks!
Food cravings: Anything and everything salty, especially bacon.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Spicy foods are no longer my friend. I feel betrayed!
Gender: Still guessing, but I've been dreaming that our baby is a girl.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue, low back pain, enlarged breasts- that bikini top that fit last week had to be replaced!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On and still loose. Hopefully I'll be able to wear them the whole time!
Happy or Moody most of the time: So in love with our life and our little bean. I'm incredibly thankful for what we have. Plus, only six more weeks till school is out for summer. Woohoo! I think pregnancy is also making me a nicer person, because I've had more patience lately for people who annoy me. Or maybe I'm just so happy it's harder to get annoyed lol.
Looking forward to:  My second trimester :-) 1 1/2 weeks to go! Also, Andrea's wedding!!!! I can't wait to see her become Mrs. Andrea Crowder! I know she is going to look gorgeous, and James will love her dress. What a perfect way to kick off the summer! See? I'm just gushing happiness!

10 Weeks

Baby H is the size of a prune.

10 weeks, 2 days- the baby belly is already in full swing!

Baby Hayden is the size of a prune (or a kumquat, but we couldn't find any!).

Gabe and I spent a lovely Saturday morning strolling through Forsyth Park. We got crafty and posed the camera on a lamp post to get this sweet picture :-)
All dressed up for Easter.

Best friends and future best friends! Lauren and I at the Fox.
Gabe kindly took our picture at Lauren's request.

Baby Hayden's first swim!

How far along? 10 Weeks
Maternity clothes? Do other clothes exist? Maternity clothes, flowy tops, and loose dresses are pretty much all I'm wearing these days.
Stretch marks? No. Keep up your magic, Palmers!
Sleep: Through the night- mostly. My dreams are vivid and all over the place. Recently, I've started having dreams about being pregnant, some of which are nicer than others. I alternate between dreaming the baby is a girl, and dreaming about all the food I'm not supposed to have. I wonder if my dreams are telling me we're having a little Lorelai? Either way, I know our baby will be a little dreamer :-)
Best moment(s) this week:
1. My doctor visit Monday- It was so good to hear that everything is fine with our little bean. His/her heart rate is strong, and my sonogram looked great. What a relief!
2. Spending lots of quality time with Gabe and our family this weekend. Gabe and I strolled around downtown Saturday, checked out the farmer's market, and then got a tasty lunch out. It's just so good to walk around together and enjoy the beautiful spring blossoms! Yesterday, we spent Easter with our families. Lunch and dinner were both delicious, and I ate more servings of hashbrown casserole than I care to admit. Baby H was certainly well fed yesterday!
3. This morning I got to see Lauren, which was a wonderful treat! It's amazing to be preggo at the same time and to go through many of the same things together. Since she's farther along than I am, she's also a font of useful information. Hopefully little C and baby H will grow up to be best friends just like us!
Miss Anything? Not really.
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: Biscuits and BBQ, smoothies
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eggs are completely unappealing to me. Ditto, fresh meat section at Publix. I've also been getting nauseous lately if my stomach gets too empty. It's really not too bad though- I feel lucky for how little morning sickness I've had!
Gender: It's still a secret... We find out June 11th!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue, nausea, acne
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ecstatic! Gabe and I are so happy to be the future parents of little Max or Lorelai! It's incredible how much we already love our little one <3
Looking forward to: Enjoying spring break! Also, my second trimester :-) Time is flying by!
